Wide Open Spaces How To Share The Roads Peacefully With Trucks

On your local news program, you may hear stories about an out of control truck wiping out a car load of people or destroying property. The media sensationalizes the facts, often putting most of the blame with the truckers. However, many times that is not the case. For the most part, truckers are responsible drivers who are diligent about road safety. Not only are they making sure they adhere to the rules of the road, but they also have to keep an eye on the nincompoop drivers of passenger vehicles who think they are the exception to the rules.

There are a few common problems that truckers come across with motorists. These problems are often also the ones most sited on insurance claims. Are you guilty of any of these practices?:

1. Brake this habit Everyone at one point or another gets stuck behind a large truck. So the most logical next step is to change lanes to pass the truck. No problems with that the problem lies in a vehicle cutting back into the trucks lane right in front of them, then braking for a turn or just slowing down, period. What most motorists dont take into account is that truckers need a lot of space in order to slow down, at least two to three times the amount of passenger vehicles.

2. Peek-a-boo! Now you see them, now you dont. This peek-a-boo game is very troublesome to truckers. Large trucks have several blind spots which make it hard for the drivers to see other motorists who like to hang out there. The best thing that you can do is either pass the truck or stay a comfortable distance behind them. When in doubt, check for the truckers side view mirrors. If you can see them, then chances are that they might be able to see you too.

3. Back up and try again In this day and age of technology, people are more accustomed to instant results and hate waiting for anything. Unfortunately, when big trucks have to back into a space, it may take a few tries to succeed. Motorists should appreciate the fact that these trucks are bigger than they are and let the truckers do their job. Patience can be a virtue!

4. Teach a lesson Some drivers of passenger vehicles like to try and teach truckers a lesson. Sometimes, drivers think that the big trucks are either going too fast or slow. So theyll speed up to pass the trucker, then get back in the truckers lane and slow down! Many parents tell their kids, Worry about yourself, and it would be smart for other motorists to heed that advice. Leave it to the troopers and policemen to enforce the laws of the road.

Common sense is what all these problems boil down to. Each person driving on the road is in charge of themselves. By exercising a little of that common sense, many accidents involving big trucks and passenger vehicles could be avoided. That old adage, It is better to be safe than sorry, certainly applies!

Wheel And Tire Maintenance For Your SUV
Tuesday 23 November 2010 @ 1:57 pm

Your SUVs wheels and tires are one the most essential parts of your vehicle. Because SUVs, such as the Land Rover Range Rover, are 4WD, it can go through any terrain that the planet could offer. And when it does, the tires and wheels of your SUV do not just obviously help you to reach your destination because it is the major equipment that makes your vehicle move. However, the functions of the wheels and tires do not just end there. These parts also emphasize the overall appearance of your vehicle. Moreover, the wheels can actually improve your cars performance just by effective cleaning. Like any other car parts like Land Rover Range Rover parts, SUV wheels can eventually be corrosive and tires could wear out because of certain factors.

Getting your SUV perfectly cleaned on a local car wash is a great idea. However, the only drawback of it is the cost that you would be spending in a car wash. Why go to a car wash if you could clean your wheels by yourself, right? So here are some few guides in effective cleaning and maintenance of your vehicles wheels and tires.

Before we proceed to the cleaning session, first you should know the factors that made your wheels and tires unpleasant. Whenever you use your SUV for a long travel or even in a short trip, dust particles attack the surface of your wheels. Other unwanted dirt on your wheels and tires include road tars, mud, and different soil crumbs. Acid rain and winter salt are effective destroyers that can make your wheels brittle.

Cleaning your wheels and tires is actually the first step in car washing. You should first select a certain cleaner for your wheels and tires. There are a lot of cleaning agents out in the market today but you should choose the safest and most effective cleaning agent for your wheels and tires. Some cleaning agent contains a high level of acidity and can easily damage your wheels. Acid-free cleaners are effective cleaning agents that are commonly used by car wash shops. The most common cleaner is the household detergent because you can find it anywhere in your kitchen, or toilette, of course. Not only that, detergent is also effective and is the safest cleaner because it does not contain any harmful ingredients that can affect your car. Wheels and tires of SUVs are much larger and broader than other vehicles so the cleaning process most likely will take longer compared to sedans.

Now let us start with the cleaning process. First, you should check your tires for road dirt and mud. If you found one, then scrape it with any hard object you can find in your place, but be careful not to scratch your tires so hard. Dilute your chosen cleaner in a bucket of water and then start brushing your tires. The grooves of your tires are the most susceptible to mud and road tars. Brush it effectively. After cleaning your tires, proceed to the wheels. Rinse the brush that you had used in your tires and start brushing your wheels in up and down motion. Pretty easy, right? You should actually clean your wheels and tires once a month for maintenance.

What Your Minivan Should Have
Tuesday 16 November 2010 @ 1:57 pm

When it comes to practicality, nothing comes quite close to owning a minivan. A minivan is also known as a multi utility vehicle, or MUV, and also known as a multi purpose vehicle, or MPV. It is just like a van however, it has rear side doors and windows and its interior can actually take in around seven people or more. It also could take in various types of cargo. Thus, the very reason why when it comes to practicality, people often choose minivans.

Aside from your minivan holding a large amount of people and cargo, a minivan should also have adjustable pedals and telescoping steering wheel. This would be a good thing for parents or drivers of minivans to be comfortable. Adjustable pedals and telescoping steering wheels are of big help to people who are not physically that long.

A center folding storage tray always helps a lot especially to those with kids who would have to eat inside the minivan. Simply described, a center folding storage tray is actually just a tray with cup holders. They fit in between the front captain chairs.

The automobile world calls this mirror the overhead convex mirror. However, to parents and to guardians, they call this a conversation mirror. It works as a spyglass. Parents and adults in the front could simply look in the mirror and they would be able to see what is going on at the back without having to turn their heads. This assists parents to keep the whole situation at the back in control.

A low tire pressure warning system is another feature that your minivan should have. This gives the drive the ample amount of information regarding their wheels. Of course, it is important to have the tires inflated just right. If they are over inflated or under inflated, the chances of having a blow out or of meeting potential accident situations are increased.

A reverse sensing system or a rearview camera would serve as your eyes. They are extremely helpful especially when backing up a driveway or a parking lot. The thing is, with a minivan, you cannot see much at the back especially if you have a group of children with you as passengers.

With all the amazing technological breakthroughs in the automotive industry, Car Parts Rush stands by its commitment of delivering excellently engineered Ford parts to go with Fords efforts of sustained production of environment-friendly vehicles.
